Ok, so I will be the first to admit that I have been slacking. Maybe blogging just doesn't come naturally to me? I don't know, but what I do know is that now I am hoping to get back on track even though school starts in 2 weeks so we will see how it goes.
I have however, for the most part, been keeping up with my crunch program which makes me very excited! I'm on week four which sounds good but really i started on week 3 haha. So I am progressing but not quite as fast as I had hoped. Slowly but surely, although it makes it tough when I'm in the middle of a set and I'm interrupted (see photo).
I can't believe summer is winding down already, feels like it just started. I've been busy the last couple weekends traveling here and there, which has been fun. Boating thanks to M & E and shopping & cupcakes last weekend with B. And E you are not going to believe it but last weekend I bought some really cute boots that look a little cowboyish and on my drive home I actually listened to the country radio station for the first time in my life!!! What is happening to me! Maybe this new semester will bring about lots of exciting new things and changes. Whatever they are I just hope I'm ready :)

Heat
It has been so hot here for the past week. Now don't get me wrong, I like summer weather, but not when it's so hot you don't even want to go outside. During the day it's not even that bad but when it doesn't even cool down at night it makes it sort of miserable.
The other night it was 90 degrees in my bedroom when I went to sleep, no we don't use AC upstairs. We do however have a whole-house fan, a huge fan blowing air out of my room and my ceiling fan all going so that makes it bearable. My brother slept outside, maybe he's the smart one, but somehow I have gotten used to it.
It's been a busy couple of days, July always seems to be a pretty busy month in my family. My parents just celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary and we drank some delicious champagne! It was also my little brothers birthday yesterday, but we haven't really celebrated as a family yet haha cause he's been too busy!
This weekend my mom and I went to visit her sister, my aunt, and her family. We took my little cousins to see Grease on the big screen. It was a sing-a-long version which was really funny, I think they really enjoyed it. And being in San Francisco, there were some real characters there :)

Crunch Crunch Crunch
Alright, so with Goal #1 out of the way (keeping up with this here blog) it's now time to move onto Goal #2.
Yesterday I stumbled across a fitness page via stumbleupon.com (one of my favorite time passing activities or boredom cures!) that was titled "Two Hundred Sit-ups." I thought for a second if I could do 200 sit-ups(really crunches as I later read), and after some wishful thinking I must say I can't.
I remember back in 7th grade PE we had a new teacher, Mr. Pieri. He was young and fit and most kids didn't like him because he expected a lot out of us. But the one thing I remember most is that during warm ups he made us do 100 crunches. There was always lots of groaning and complaining from everyone it seemed but me. I loved the challenge of this simple exercise that I was actually good at! From then on I have always taken small pride when it's time to do abdominals!
Fast forward to present and I don't even know if I can do 100 crunches anymore. Somewhere between the college lifestyle and being plain lazy, I seem to have lost it. Sure I will get into doing ab routines every once in a while but they only last a week at most and then I end up right back where I started.
So, I'm hoping this time will be different and Goal #2 is to complete the Two Hundred Sit-ups 6 week program. I have exactly 6 weeks till school starts so I can't waste any time falling behind. Here goes nothing!

Goals
It was very recently pointed out to me (E) that I haven't blogged in about 6 months. When asked why I have posted not one single post for a half a year I couldn't even come up with a good excuse. I've been thinking about it the last couple days and realized that I have a hard time keeping my goals. I'm great at making them but when it comes to following through I always seem to be a big failure.
So with that said and with new determination, E, I am really going to try this time to keep up with this and prove to myself that I can indeed set a goal and thus learn to follow through.

Christmas 09
Christmas. When I think of Christmas, I think of family, food, gifts, candy canes, baking, music, the list goes on and on. This year we had a different Christmas which only contained a couple of the elements that I associate with Christmas. But it turned out to be ok because the real focus this year was family and making sure we were all together.
This year we had Christmas at my grandmas new home. She recenly moved into a retirement village where she has here own apartment and she goes to a common dining room for food and sometimes entertainment. She wanted us to have Christmas at her place this year to make some good memories at her new place.
Christmas is usually at my house, so it was a new thing to travel on Christmas day. I wasn't really looking forward to that part but it ended up being kinda fun. My family and my Aunt's family all caravaned (is that a word? haha) to grandma's on Christmas morning after a breakfast of my homemade cinnamon rolls and opening stockings (for my 2 little cousins, I don't get one anymore). We found some Christmas music on the radio and my brother even had some on his ipod. It was actually nice because it was the first time in a long time the 4 of us spent any long length of time all together in the same place.
We arrived around 11:30 just an hour before the dining room would be serving Christmas dinner! This was definitely different being as we normally have our Christmas feast around 6 or 7. But this year's theme was "go with the flow" so we put on our happy faces. I don't know if you have ever been to a retirement home/place/village but if you are under the age of 60 and you are at their place, you are a sight to see (especially when you are a party of 11, 4 under age 21, and 1 on roller skates).

Finals
This week has been finals, and the one word I can think of to descibe it is CRAZY. Everyone is in a flurry, and practically living at the library. At least B has been. I live with the girl and literally haven't seen her in 3 days! I am hoping she will re-appear soon.
I spent the whole day reading for bus 316. Thats what you get when you do nothing the entire semester until finals week. I tend to think it works better for me though seeing as I have a great short term memory for tests. Hasn't failed me yet so I'll be crossing my fingers tomorrow.
All in all not a bad day, E kept me company while she cleaned and rubbed all our walls with rubbing alcohol (Isn't there a cleaning solution for that?). Tomorrow after my final is when the real cleaning begins and I must pack up my room before mom comes on friday. Meanwhile I am trying to eat everything in my cupboards, lots of spaghetti and and oatmeal, pretty much a carb diet, must say I'm looking forward to going home and eatting some real food.
