Cruising the Carribbean & Visiting the Palms

My Last two weeks:
  • Cruise in Eastern Carribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale
  • freezing weather in florida, coldest weather in 3 decades
  • cold everglades = no alligators :(

  • explored Ft. Lauderdale, ate some good pizza
  • boarded the Emerald Princess

  • skipped first stop due to stormy weather conditions
  • tsunami warning on 1st formal night while quartet is playing = feels like i'm on the Titanic
  • 1st stop: St. Martin. Island tour of french & dutch sides, beautiful scenery.

  • Tour of a little zoo filled with mostly local animals
  • 2nd stop: St. Thomas. Shopping & island tour in an open air truck in the rain, although it took a break when we visited Megan Beach, one of the top beaches in the world according to national geographic.
  • 3rd stop: Grand Turk. Not much to do there but the beach and the water are absolutely beautiful. The water is a fading blue into teal to a light crystal blue.
  • Lots of eating & relaxing by the ocean

  • Met lots of nice people
  • Took all day to get home, 2 layovers thanks Southwest

  •  1.5 Days back at home
  • Hello Palm Springs
  • Lots of rain + it never rains in palm springs = flooded streets everywhere

  • very nice hotel and fancy dinners
  • Living Desert Museum
  • Joshua Tree National Park (except I didnt see any Joshua trees, couldn't drive far enough cause the road was flooded)
  • Return flight cancelled due to extreme winds, got out late that night
  • Finally home and I get sick!
  • Now recovered & got hair done
  • Up next: Back to school
  •
  • Oh and one of the funniest signs I have ever seen, from Ft. Lauderdale
